The 1950s was the era of Rocky Marciano who with a 49-0 record holds the distinction as the only heavyweight champion to go through his career undefeated. He was also the inspiration for Sylvester Stallone's boxing movie series "Rocky."
In boxing, George Foreman holds the record for being the oldest boxer to ever win the world heavyweight crown when he knocked out then IBF and WBA Heavyweight champion Michael Moorer in the 10th round of their match in Las Vegas in November 1994. Foreman was already then 45 years old.
